NBC has removed an upcoming episode of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit  that guest stars Timothy Busfield after the actor and director faced criminal charges involving child abuse. The episode, titled Corrosive , was scheduled to air on January 15 but will no longer be broadcast. The network will instead air the episode originally planned for January 22, Fidelis Ad Mortem , in its place. There is currently no confirmation on whether Corrosive  will air ever. An arrest warrant issued by Albuquerque, New Mexico authorities, which accuses Busfield of allegedly abusing two minor boys during his time directing episodes of the Fox drama series The Cleaner  in 2024. Available information confirms that one of the children claimed inappropriate contact over clothing while on set. Both children were actors involved in the canceled series. Warner Bros. Television, the studio behind The Cleaner , confirmed it conducted an internal investigation after receiving a SAG-AFTRA complaint and emphasized the safety of its cast, especially minors. The studio said it continues to cooperate with law enforcement regarding the ongoing investigation. Busfield appeared in the SVU episode as a guest star. From the opening seconds, the footage trades spectacle for unease: unsettling chants, fragmented imagery, insects crawling where insects should absolutely not be crawling and flashes of something ancient that should have stayed buried. The vibe is grim, relentless and deliberately uncomfortable, a far cry from the swashbuckling tone many still associate with the franchise. Brilliant Minds  Season 2 Episode 12, titled “The Rider,” opens on a surprisingly mellow note for Oliver. He meets his dad’s neighbor, the woman who waters his plants when he’s out of town and she casually offers him an edible while they chat about his father. Honestly? A chill vibe. Naturally, that calm doesn’t last long because we immediately cut to the case of the week: a bull rider named Benson who passes out at literally the worst possible moment, mid-ride. Because of course he does. After the opening credits, we’re back at the hospital where Oliver wastes no time breaking hearts by confirming that both Jacob and Van have officially left. Ericka and Dana are understandably reeling, but Oliver chooses this  moment to finally address the elephant in the room with Charlie. He tries to explain the tension between them and clear the air. Unfortunately, Ericka and Dana get pulled away for a code, leaving Oliver alone with a still-smug Charlie, who accuses him of giving away his leverage. Oliver insists again that he isn’t Charlie’s enemy. Charlie remains unconvinced. Progress is slow, folks. "I am not your enemy!" Elsewhere, Josh has taken it upon himself to set Carol up with a dating profile. Is this confirmation that Carol and Thorne are truly done? Because if Josh weren’t gay, I’d be fully on board with that pairing. Carol, meanwhile, has a patient named Betsy who’s facing eviction unless she can prove her cat is an emotional support animal. This storyline takes a turn later when Betsy gets arrested after fighting with her neighbors. Turns out she’s been hoarding cats and is now considered a health hazard. In a compassionate but firm move, Carol convinces Betsy to rehome the other cats while signing off on one as her emotional support animal so she can stay in her apartment. Carol stays quietly winning this season. Back on the medical mystery front, Oliver meets Benson and his girlfriend, Grace-Ann. When Benson’s temperature suddenly plummets, he becomes hypothermic for no clear reason. Later, he reports feeling like bugs are crawling under his skin, which is never a good sign. Around the same time, Ericka tells Dana that she’s applying for the same grant Dana is, completely unaware that Dana already has a recommendation from Charlie. So Dana ends up helping Ericka practice for a grant she’s almost certainly going to get herself. Awkward, but refreshingly not malicious. And honestly? Thank you, writers. No unnecessary drama between the two of them. There might , however, be something brewing between Dana and Charlie, non romantic of course. They’ve grown closer, with Charlie calling Dana his mentee, a label she does not love. Still, they exchange advice and share vulnerable moments and it’s clear the show is actively trying to soften Charlie. Whether or not that works is another story. The episode reveals that Benson is an alcoholic, which adds another layer to his condition. His mother was born with fetal alcohol syndrome and so was he. Benson now has wet brain due to his alcoholism. Wolfe discovers a potential surgical option, but it’s never been used to treat alcoholism before, and Josh refuses to approve it. Carol later tells Oliver about a clinical trial that could help Benson, run by none other than Josh’s boyfriend. Benson and Grace-Ann meet with the doctor, but Grace-Ann is hesitant. She doesn’t want Benson to change. Benson, however, wants Grace-Ann to undergo the surgery too, pointing out that she’s also an alcoholic. And I mean… they are drinking hand sanitizer. He’s not wrong. Dana and Ericka both interview for the grant, with Carol sitting on the board. Ericka does great, while Dana initially struggles until she opens up about her sister’s death. In doing so, Carol realizes Dana was the one who reported her earlier in the season. Carol confronts Josh and they decide not to tell Oliver, knowing he’d see it as a betrayal. More secrets, because this show truly thrives on them. When it’s finally time for Benson’s surgery, Grace-Ann doesn’t show up. Brutal. Dana ends up getting the grant and she and Ericka celebrate together with no resentment, no weird tension. Growth! Ericka also reveals she wants to find her birth mother, which feels like a storyline waiting in the wings. In fact, he claims he barely knows him. Sir. This hospital is tiny . That secret is absolutely coming out. Speaking of secrets, Oliver tells Charlie that his father was drinking long before Charlie’s mother died, meaning it wasn’t anyone’s fault. Oliver asks Charlie what he really wants. Charlie admits he originally wanted to get fired after the gala, but now… he wants to stay. I am exhausted by revenge plots on medical shows (looking at you Doc). Charlie needs to unclench and move on. Finally, we learn Oliver’s dad’s neighbor doesn’t just water plants, she has sleep paralysis and Oliver's father has been helping her. Now, Oliver has arranged to become her doctor in exchange for information about his father, since she helped him write his book for decades. Overall, “The Rider” is a solid, character-driven episode of Brilliant Minds . Nothing too wild, but plenty of emotional and narrative setup. I’d give it 3.5 out of 5 stars .

We’re finally back with Season 4 of Industry! This was a really good episode that has thrown us back into the finance world of our favorites, not-so-favorite’s, and a whole lot of new people. After the end of Season 3, I was on the edge of my seat to see how everything was going to turn out this season. While I will say I did really enjoy this episode, I also feel like there’s so much more for us to learn and explore with our existing cast and the new additions to the canvas…with such a short episode count, I worry that it might be a little bloated this season, but I’ve loved every season so far, so I have no doubt this will be the same.  We open this episode following Charlie Heaton’s character, James Dycker; it seems like he is following someone and it turns out to be Kiernan Shipka’s Haley. She seems to like him as they are at the club and things seem as if they are following a typical route. They are interested in each other and they’re going to hook up and it’ll probably be nothing more. I thought this was the plan for sure, but I figured there would be more to it since Charlie is one of our new additions to the cast. They do end up making it back to her place and things are progressing, but she ends up crashing and wakes to him explaining who he is. He explains that he works for another firm and wanted to talk to her since no one at her job will communicate with him. Obviously, in a state of shock and confusion, she tells him he needs to leave immediately and starts going in. I like Kiernan’s previous work so I’m sure that she will do amazing in whatever capacity she is in this season, but I’m very curious about Charlie’s character. We have yet to see him at his place of work, but he seems to know the in’s and out’s of the finance world, especially after he finds a way to communicate with Harper in this episode and they have absolutely no connection to each other.  We’re also introduced to our new trade obstacle this season. Our new industry that is shown is a new payment processor called Tender. They are tied into an adult entertainment site called Siren. It seems that a lot of our big players are trying to get their hands in that pool, but due to new introduction of laws that are tightening down on underage use of these websites and trying to limit the exploitation of minors on these services, Tender is pulling out of that service and pivoting away from the porn industry. I think that this story is really relevant in today’s society because it is an issue that gets overlooked far too often, and with the rise of AI, people are abusing it for immoral reasons as well. Since we’re introduced to the two main key players here, I have a feeling that they are going to be a big buyer and/or seller this season.  We’re also brought back into Harper’s world this season and introduced to the team of people that are working for her under Otto’s control after his offer in Season 3. I think that this season has set up an interesting play as a whole, but especially with these shifts in casting and characters. We’ve lost Robert and some of our key side players for this season, we’ve also gained a whole new group of people throughout different sectors that we need to learn about and be introduced to. At the same time, in the story, we are seeing the characters more physically divided than they have been ever. Even throughout the shiftiness, power plays, and mind games throughout the first 3 seasons, we’ve never been at a place where Pierpoint is not our main stage for all of the workplace drama. We have Harper in her new role, Eric in “retirement”, Yasmin out of Pierpoint and preparing to marry Henry, and Rishi even deeper in his rock bottom.  All in all, this was a solid premiere to set us up for this season. I am intrigued to see where everyone’s stories grow and go throughout the course of this season, but I am a little worried for the large growth in cast as it could bloat up an already short season. I hope to see some progress and development for everyone on canvas as I think they all have a lot to offer to the story. I would give this episode a 4/5 star rating.
