When Does Ghosts Return? CBS Comedy Is Back With New Spirits in “The Others”

The CBS comedy returns Thursday, Feb. 26 (8:30–9:00 PM ET/PT) with an episode aptly titled “The Others,” introducing a brand-new group of spirits with deep ties to one ghost’s history. Naturally, things get complicated immediately.

In the episode, Sam and the resident spirits come face-to-face with The Others, a new ghost group connected to one of their own. While Ghosts has never been shy about expanding its supernatural sandbox, this marks another step in broadening the show’s world beyond the mansion walls and reminding everyone that dying doesn’t magically resolve unfinished business. If anything, it just gives it more time to simmer.

Season 4 has continued to lean into what Ghosts does best: mixing absurd supernatural problems with painfully relatable emotional ones. The ghosts may be stuck in different centuries, but their issues, jealousy, insecurity and unresolved grudges feel extremely modern. Adding new spirits into the mix threatens the fragile balance the group has built, especially when old dynamics resurface and loyalties are quietly tested.

Meanwhile, back in the realm of the living (sort of), Trevor finds himself dealing with consequences of the romantic variety. After a holiday hookup, Patience is looking for something more serious, forcing Trevor to confront the fact that his usual charm-and-deflect strategy may no longer cut it. Trevor’s love life has always been a soft spot for the show, balancing humor with moments of surprising vulnerability and this episode looks poised to push him a little further out of his emotional comfort zone.

As the season moves forward, Ghosts continues to prove that its secret weapon isn’t just its clever premise, but its willingness to evolve. New spirits mean new rules, new rivalries and new opportunities for the ensemble to shine all without losing the fast-paced wit that’s made the series such a reliable standout.

“The Others” promises a half-hour packed with supernatural awkwardness, romantic pressure and the reminder that even in the afterlife, nothing is ever truly simple.
