What to Watch August 26: MasterChef, Big Brother & Jeopardy! Masters

Wednesday apparently looked at Tuesday's television schedule and said, "Run some of that back."

Both Jeopardy! Masters and America's Got Talent return tonight after airing yesterday, but don't worry, your TV guide isn't glitching. ABC is moving quickly through the Jeopardy! Masters tournament with another pair of quarterfinal games, while NBC switches from Tuesday's AGT performances to the results. Throw in a new Big Brother, the dreaded Restaurant Takeover on MasterChef: Global Gauntlet and a brand new HGTV competition fueled by pure '90s nostalgia, and we've got ourselves a Wednesday.

Here's what to watch August 26.

TV Cave Top Pick: MasterChef: Global Gauntlet

Some MasterChef challenges test whether you can make a beautiful plate of food. Restaurant Takeover tests whether you can keep your sanity while an entire dining room is waiting to eat.

The competition reaches the Top 6 tonight at 8 PM ET on FOX, and the remaining home cooks are divided into teams for the annual Restaurant Takeover challenge. This time they're taking control of Cluny Bistro, where cooking a great dish is only part of the problem. They'll also have to communicate, keep service moving and prove they can function like an actual restaurant brigade while Gordon Ramsay watches everything unravel.

After last week's double elimination, the pressure is getting very real. We're close enough to the end that one disastrous dinner service could send a legitimate contender home, which makes MasterChef our TV Cave Top Pick tonight.

The major broadcast lineup is confirmed across current Wednesday listings, while Death of the Pastor's Wife, Mom Knows Best? and Totally '90s House are among today's scheduled premieres.

Jeopardy! Masters Isn't Wasting Any Time

If it feels like we just told you Jeopardy! Masters was premiering, that's because we did yesterday. ABC isn't making viewers wait a week between installments this time around. Quarterfinal Games 1 and 2 aired Tuesday, with Games 3 and 4 arriving tonight before the tournament continues Thursday and Friday.

That accelerated schedule should make the competition especially fun to follow because there isn't much downtime between matchups. Victoria Groce, Andrew He, Long Nguyen, Paolo Pasco, Yogesh Raut and Juveria Zaheer are competing for the $500,000 grand prize and Trebek Trophy, with Ken Jennings once again overseeing a room full of people who make us question everything we thought we learned in school.

Meanwhile, America's Got Talent also makes its second appearance in as many nights, although Wednesday belongs to the Quarterfinals 2 results rather than another performance show.

There's a Little Something for Everybody

CBS keeps the reality strategy going with Big Brother, while The CW hands over primetime to the 2026 Miss Teen USA competition. Later, Nation's Dumbest follows MasterChef on FOX, and The Oval continues on BET.

But HGTV might have the most shamelessly nostalgic new option of the night. Totally '90s House premieres at 9 PM, offering a competition built around the decade that gave us inflatable furniture, lava lamps and enough questionable interior design choices to keep HGTV busy for years. The series will also stream on HBO Max beginning August 27.

For us, though, we're heading to Restaurant Takeover. Six cooks remain, Gordon Ramsay is watching, customers need their food, and somebody's MasterChef dream could disappear because their team couldn't get dinner out of the kitchen.
