The TV Cave’s Daily TV Guide: What to Watch on August 8

Three cartoon men on a city bridge: one stern with arms crossed, one smiling with press badge, one waving; trees and buildings behind.

Saturday night is giving viewers a little bit of everything, and honestly, we respect the range.

The TV schedule for August 8, 2026, moves from punches inside the Octagon to romance on Hallmark Channel, family drama on OWN, danger on Lifetime and HBO, and one very stressed Superman over on Adult Swim. So whether your ideal Saturday involves watching people fight professionally or watching two attractive people fight their feelings, television has you covered.

Paramount+ gets things started early with UFC Fight Night: Gamrot vs. Salkilld, while the 8 p.m. hour is where the remote control may start getting a workout. Hallmark Channel premieres Absolutely Devoted to You, OWN brings another round of Heart & Hustle: Houston, Lifetime debuts She Stole My Son’s Heart, and The Strangers: Chapter 2 makes its cable debut on HBO.

Then, for the night owls, My Adventures With Superman heads into its penultimate episode just before midnight. Whew. Clark Kent apparently does not believe in letting us end Saturday peacefully.

Here’s what to watch on TV today, Saturday, August 8.

Saturday’s schedule really comes down to one question: What kind of drama are we in the mood for?

Sports fans can start the evening with UFC Fight Night: Gamrot vs. Salkilld on Paramount+, where Mateusz Gamrot and Quillan Salkilld headline the card. That gives viewers a few hours of actual fighting before television switches over to the emotional kind.

At 8 p.m., Absolutely Devoted to You brings Jesse Metcalfe back into romantic leading man territory. Kimberley Sustad stars as a TV producer who thinks reuniting a ’90s boy band is simply a good professional move. Naturally, she develops feelings for the reluctant lead singer because this is Hallmark Channel and nobody is allowed to organize a wholesome summer event without accidentally finding love.

For viewers looking for reality TV instead, Heart & Hustle: Houston continues on OWN, and this girls’ trip does not exactly sound like a relaxing getaway. Tensions between Chloe and La’Torria escalate, while LeBrina celebrates Will’s retirement and Jordan starts looking like he may be ready to put a ring on it. Yes, girl. At least somebody might leave all this with good news.

Lifetime takes a much darker turn with She Stole My Son’s Heart, starring Marisol Nichols as a detective investigating the disappearance of a woman who urgently needs a heart transplant. Meanwhile, horror fans can head to HBO for the cable arrival of The Strangers: Chapter 2, where Maya surviving apparently means the masked killers have decided they need a rematch. Rude.

Finally, My Adventures With Superman closes out the night with its penultimate episode on Adult Swim. Clark is dealing with Krypton’s past, Lois is confronting Earth’s future, children are misbehaving, and Jimmy is yelling at Lex. Frankly, that last part alone sounds worth staying awake until 11:59 p.m. for.

From UFC action and Hallmark romance to reality TV drama, thrillers, horror and superheroes, the August 8 TV schedule offers plenty of ways to spend Saturday night. The biggest challenge may simply be deciding what gets the television at 8 p.m., because apparently every network looked at that hour and said, “Yeah, put ours there too.”
