‘The Sisters Grimm’ Season 2 Sets October Premiere on Apple TV — See the First Look

Sabrina and Daphne Grimm aren't finished solving the mysteries of Ferryport Landing just yet.

Apple TV has revealed the first look at Season 2 of its animated fantasy adventure series The Sisters Grimm, which will premiere globally on Friday, October 2. Based on Michael Buckley's bestselling book series, the show follows two very different sisters who discover that being descendants of the Brothers Grimm comes with considerably more adventure and danger than your average family history.

The series will return after a well-received first season, which earned a 100% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes. Season 2 will once again consist of six episodes as Sabrina and Daphne continue searching for answers about what happened to their parents while dealing with the rather unusual residents of Ferryport Landing.

The Mystery of Sabrina and Daphne's Parents Continues

Season 2 picks up one year after the mysterious disappearance of Sabrina and Daphne's parents. The sisters are still uncovering the secrets hiding throughout Ferryport Landing, a place where fairy tales aren't simply stories and the creatures that populate them are very much real.

The new season will send Sabrina and Daphne into more adventures and mysteries as their investigation continues. Of course, anyone who made it through Season 1 already knows these two don't exactly approach situations the same way, but their differences are also part of what makes them such an effective team when things get complicated.

And in Ferryport Landing, things have a habit of getting complicated rather quickly.

The Voice Cast Returns for Season 2

Ariel Winter returns to lead the voice cast as Sabrina, alongside Leah Newman as her younger sister, Daphne. Laraine Newman is also back as Relda, with Abubakar Salim as Charming, Billy Harris as Puck and Harry Trevaldwyn as Mirror.

The cast brings together some familiar television voices and faces. Winter is, of course, best known for her long-running role as Alex Dunphy on Modern Family, while Harris starred as Colin Hughes on Ted Lasso. Salim's credits include Raised by Wolves, and Laraine Newman was an original cast member of Saturday Night Live.

Behind the scenes, The Sisters Grimm was developed by Emmy nominee Amy Higgins, who serves as showrunner, and Emmy nominee Erica Rothschild. Titmouse, the animation studio behind projects including Harriet the Spy, Frog and Toad and The Legend of Vox Machina, produces the animation.

Higgins also executive produces alongside Buckley, Elliot Blake, Philip Alberstat, Steven Amato and Theresa Park. Titmouse's Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Ben Kalina and Antonio Canobbio serve as executive producers, with Sage Cotugno returning as supervising director.

Back to Ferryport Landing

With only six episodes in the season, The Sisters Grimm doesn't have a ton of time to play around, and the ongoing mystery surrounding Sabrina and Daphne's missing parents gives Season 2 a clear story to continue exploring.

There's also plenty of material available if Apple TV wants to keep this adventure going beyond its sophomore season. Buckley's original The Sisters Grimm series spans nine books and follows the sisters through an increasingly expansive world of fairy-tale characters, mysteries and family secrets.

For now, though, Sabrina and Daphne still have some unfinished business in Ferryport Landing — and maybe we'll finally get a few more answers about Mom and Dad.
