The stakes just got a whole lot higher on FOX’s MasterChef: Global Gauntlet. Episode 6 finally delivered the first Mystery Box challenge of the season and the judges did not play nice. The task? Reinvigorating the brunch staple of every millennial's weekend budget: Eggs Benedict. But because this is MasterChef, a standard poached egg on an English muffin simply will not do. The home cooks had exactly one hour to turn a humble egg into a globally inspired masterpiece, and the kitchen proved that some contestants still do not know how to handle the heat.
Whisking Away the Competition
Before the clock started, Gordon Ramsay took to the stage to show the cooks how a real pro handles a hollandaise sauce. It was a flawless display, but the warm, fuzzy feelings evaporated the moment the cooking advantage came into play. Aishu, holding the power from her win in the previous episode, was handed a delightfully petty saboteur tool. She got to choose which global region had to whisk their hollandaise using a ridiculously tiny, impractical novelty whisk.
Aishu chose violence and targeted the Europe region. Watching grown adults try to emulsify egg yolks and butter with a utensil meant for a toddler’s play kitchen was pure entertainment.
The Cream of the Crop: Brunch Elegance
When the hour wrapped, the judges called up the top dishes of the night, proving that cultural fusion can actually work when you have actual culinary talent.
Maria (Americas): Served up a sophisticated Benedict featuring perfectly creamy leeks that impressed the panel.
Shompa (Asia-Pacific): Brought the heat with a bold shrimp curry twist that elevated the baseline flavor profile.
Basia (Europe): Overcame the miniature whisk handicap to deliver a hearty kapusta eggs and pork sausage dish that felt authentic and technically sound.
Heidi (Africa): Stole the show with a stunning crawfish Benedict.
Ultimately, Heidi walked away with the win and the coveted immunity pin, securing her safety and proving she is a major threat in this competition.

The Bottom Three: Benedict Disasters
Of course, you cannot have a great episode of MasterChef without some absolute disasters. The bottom tier of dishes reminded everyone that poaching an egg is apparently a lost art form for some of these hopefuls.
Foo struggled with a shaking beef concept that missed the mark, while Nico turned in a bombondi variant that left the judges entirely underwhelmed. However, the real tragedy belonged to Camilo. Representing the Americas, Camilo attempted a chorizo and torta beans Benedict. Instead of a vibrant, elevated dish, it fell completely flat on execution.
The Verdict
When the final judgments were handed down, the Americas took a massive hit. Camilo’s poorly executed flavor profile cost him his apron, making him the latest casualty of the Global Gauntlet. It turns out you cannot hide bad technique behind a bit of spicy sausage.
Head over to the comments to share your thoughts on the elimination. Did the judges send the right cook packing, or should Aishu's tiny-whisk victim have gone home instead?
