Jen Jacob Marks One Year on “Beyond the Gates” and Shuts Down Body-Shamer with Class

Woman with long brown hair wearing a denim jacket, looking to the side with a neutral expression. Blurry background with photos.

It’s been a full year since Jen Jacob got the call — the one where she found out she booked the role of Ashley Morgan on Beyond the Gates. In a reel posted to her Instagram, she shared the raw, emotional moment that changed her life, with a caption marking the one-year milestone:

“Cannot believe that it’s been a year today since I had the phone call... that would change my life. One rotation 🌎 around the big ‘ole ☀️ as Ashley ✨.”

But while many fans celebrated the journey with her, one commenter decided to chime in with a nasty dig, mocking the size of her nose. Instead of ignoring it or letting it dull her shine, Jen did what Jen does best: she responded with confidence, heart, and a little bit of sparkle.

In a follow-up reel, she smiled into the camera and said:

“Yeah, I’ve got a big nose cuz you know what else I have that's really, really big? A big f*cking heart.”

And just like that, she shut it down. No drama. No clapback war. Just self-love, served straight with a side of class.

Why It Matters

Body-shaming is sadly nothing new, especially for women in the public eye. But what makes Jen’s response so refreshing is how normal she makes self-acceptance feel. There’s no over-the-top message or dramatic violin music, just a woman who knows who she is and isn’t afraid to stand in that truth.

ICYMI: Our Interview with Jen Jacob Was Everything

At Soap Wire Podcast, we got to chat with Jen shortly after Beyond the Gates launched, and it quickly became clear: she’s not just talented, she’s hilarious, grounded, and absolutely gets the soap genre for the delightful chaos that it is.

👉 “She never imagined spending this much time with one character,” we wrote at the time, “calling it the most immersive role of her career. And honestly, we love that for her.”

From love triangles to fake pregnancies to fridge-fueled meltdowns (yes, really), Jen brings a perfect mix of heart and humor to Ashley and now, to real-life moments like this one too.

If you’ve seen her on screen, you know Ashley Morgan is the kind of character who can cry in a supply closet one minute and throw verbal punches the next. Turns out, Jen Jacob is every bit as dynamic off-screen, standing up for herself while staying totally grounded in joy, gratitude, and that signature charm her fans adore.

We’re still Team Jen, always.

And if you’re not watching Beyond the Gates yet, you’re officially missing out, on the drama, the laughs, and one of the most real women in daytime TV.
