Chicago Fire Adds Da’Vinchi as New Firefighter Candidate for Season 15

Anew face is rolling into the house to stir the pot. NBC’s flagship procedural Chicago Fire has officially added All American and BMF star Da'Vinchi to the series regular cast for the upcoming 15th season. The casting update marks the very first major series regular addition for the procedural's milestone year. It signals a massive changing of the guard both on-screen and behind the scenes. Along with the fresh blood in the bunker, the long-running Dick Wolf drama is transitioning to a brand-new showrunner, Victor Teran, who is stepping up after longtime boss Andrea Newman exited the franchise.

Da'Vinchi will step into the turnouts of Marcus Burke, a brand-new firefighter candidate aiming to secure his spot at 51. Marcus is officially described as roguish and funny with a wry sense of humor, but he also packs a distinct streak of defiance. For a house that thrives on military-style hierarchy and expects rookies to shut up and clean the trucks, that defiant label means Marcus is bound to clash with the veteran crew almost immediately. He joins fellow newcomer Sal Vasquez, played by Brandon Larracuente, in a younger generation of firefighters who seem entirely too comfortable questioning authority.

If Da'Vinchi looks instantly familiar, it is because he has put together a seriously impressive resume across major network and premium cable dramas. Sports drama fans know him best as quarterback Darnell Hayes on the CW’s All American, a fan-favorite role he occupied before the character departed the main narrative. Over on Starz, he spent four seasons portraying the real-life Detroit drug mogul Terry "Southwest T" Flenory on the crime drama BMF, which concluded its successful run. His other prominent television credits include memorable stints on Freeform's grown-ish, Amazon's The Boys, and Marvel's Jessica Jones. Interestingly, this won't even be the actor's only time wearing a firefighter uniform on television, as he was also recently cast as Noah in Tyler Perry's upcoming Netflix firehouse drama Where There's Smoke.

Marcus Burke’s arrival is going to hit a firehouse that is already entirely fractured and dealing with severe trauma. The season 14 finale wrapped up on a brutal, life-or-death cliffhanger that left Kelly Severide, Mouch, and several core members of the team trapped inside a catastrophic building explosion.
