We know she was off filming The Gilded Age but we needed her here sooner. This long-overdue chat gives Wolf the emotional closure he desperately needs, paving the way for him to officially pack his bags, leave Hudson Oaks and set out to win back Josh cuz that lame breakup with Josh and Beau was corny.
Meanwhile, the drama behind the scenes at Bronx General takes a ruthless turn. Muriel takes matters into her own hands to protect her son's legacy, quietly orchestrating the termination of Dr. Charlie Porter’s residency to avoid a public spectacle.
She hands Charlie a ticket out the door: a prestigious placement at NYU, on the strict condition that he never steps foot inside Bronx General again. Before catching his flight, a deeply remorseful Charlie visits Wolf at Hudson Oaks to offer an apology. Instead of holding a grudge, Wolf grants Charlie total forgiveness, reminding him that they are both just highly flawed humans trying their absolute best.
Back at Bronx General, the rest of the staff handles a lighter, though highly awkward, medical case. Dr. Carol Pierce and Dr. Mitch Thorne partner up to treat a pair of newlyweds who are dealing with a severe, medically induced lack of intimacy in their sex life. Working closely on this intimate case brings Carol and Mitch much closer together. The undeniable romantic tension between them better be building momentum heading into the final stretch of the season. We demand closure before the show ends for good.
This installment functions as a stellar narrative pivot, cleanly wrapping up Wolf’s institutional stay while setting a clear path for his return to regular hospital duty. The resolution of Charlie’s messy storyline feels earned, and watching Wolf walk out of Hudson Oaks with a new lease on life gives the audience a massive sigh of relief.
