BAFTA Nominations 2026: Who Should Win, Who Will Win, and Who Was Snubbed

Golden masks on stands, reflecting light, set against a dark background. The scene exudes elegance and formality.

David Jonsson and Aimee Lou Wood announced the BAFTA nominations today — and unsurprisingly, I have a lot to say about them.

First off, I was genuinely happy to see I, Swear receive so much love, landing five nominations, including Best Actor for Robert Aramayo. Aramayo delivered my favourite performance of last year, and it’s great to see that recognised here. Honestly, I’m just glad I, Swear didn’t slip through the cracks.

The biggest snub that surprised me, though, was Amy Madigan, who is notably absent from the Supporting Actress category.

With all that said, here are my predicted winners in each category, based on a mix of personal preference and BAFTA voting patterns.

For my picks, I’ve gone with a mix of personal taste and historical BAFTA voting tendencies. I can absolutely see Robert Aramayo pulling off a very BAFTA-coded move: winning Best Actor here and missing out at the other major awards.

We’ll find out on 22nd February, when Alan Cumming hosts the ceremony. For UK viewers, the BAFTAs will air on BBC One.
